I had a hand sized Bible rebound in brown buffalo with matching liner. I also had a ‘Valley of Vision’ rebound in black goat skin with red liner. All work was exceptional and beyond expectations! Customer service is also a priority with this company. It was a pleasure working with them.

I have owned many leather-lined Bibles both directly from the publisher and rebound by capable artisans. Most met the same fate, sold or traded away for the same reason – a floppy cover (especially on a larger Bible) does not bode well for my preaching style, and as one of the brothers in the ASV Bible Group is fond of reminding us, limp bindings do not fare well over time. I have approached a few binders with the idea of using either thicker leather or doing leather- lined over boards and they either declined or quoted a price that was out of my range.

Bradford Taliaferro, the gifted Artisan behind Retreasured Rebound Bibles asked me one question: “Do you hold your Bible in one hand while preaching?”. I responded with “yes Sir” and waited for what seemed to be a million years for his response.
As I watched the three dots in messenger indicating that he was typing, I mentally prepared myself for all of the responses, I have heard before. He said “I think I know the feel you’re looking for.”

This 1910 Cross Reference Bible IS “THE FEEL” and “THE ONE”.

THE FEEL because the Artisan combined the beauty of a leather lining with the practicality of a hardback while adding personal touches that you just cannot get from a publisher.

THE ONE because I was reminded that as a 9 year old, I won the Vacation Bible School Spelling Bee, by spelling the word AND using it in a sentence.

“V-A-R-I-O-R-U-M.
One of my Granddaddy’s Bibles has variorum renderings.”

When I was 16 and unsaved, I left my Bible on top of my car as I drove away from church one night. It slid off and got mangled when it hit the pavement. The janitor found it and kept it for me until the next Sunday. I was so ashamed when my parents saw it. But eventually I got saved and really started using it. The yapp broke off piece by piece. I stopped preaching out of it because it looked so rough.

Brother, you just don’t know what this means to me. I am so glad to have it rebound. And Bradford’s work is going to make me proud to carry it to the pulpit for everyone to see. This is now one of the most beautiful things I own.

I like the way old Bibles have character and a story. I’m so proud to have Bradford as a part of this Bible’s story. One of these days I will be able to pass this down to my son. I’m so glad that when I do, it will look great and still be beautiful.

I would absolutely recommend Retreasured Rebound Bibles to anyone! Let me start by saying that I am very very particular about my Bible and tried to shop around and look for the best rebinder available. I chose based on pictures of their work, features available, and their reviews on Facebook. The work that Bradford did on my Bible greatly exceeded my expectations. I knew it would look good, but I was not prepared for what I saw when I unwrapped it. It looks better than anything I had imagined.

Materials: The bison leather that Bradford uses is the best leather I have ever seen. The look and the feel are luxurious. There are quite a few choices of colors for leather, ribbons, pages, thread, and head bands. Also, Bradford sent me some samples of the leather so that I could see and feel it before I decided on what I wanted.
Service: Bradford was very patient while I made up my indecisive mind on what I wanted. He answered my numerous questions about everything. When I asked about different color combinations, he was quick to go take pictures of leather samples together so that I could see what they would look like. He also helped me find a certain kind of paper that I wanted for my end sheets. Most people wouldn’t go through that much trouble.
Convenience: Bradford does his invoices and payments through PayPal. It was so easy and there is no check or money order to get lost or delayed. He also offers gift certificates. Also, when he shipped it back to me, he used priority mail and sent me the tracking number. I was able to track it and it arrived faster than I thought it would.
Passion For The Bible: In doing business with Bradford and chatting with him on several occasions, I believe he really has a passion for the Bible and for the restoration of Bibles. He knows that reading the Bible brings encouragement, strength, and wisdom. He wants his craftsmanship and finished product to make you fall in love with your Bible so that you will want to read it more. It certainly has worked for me. I can’t wait to get my hands on it each day. And that is something that you just can’t put a price on.
If you have a Bible that needs some TLC, send it to Bradford. You will not regret it.

Over the years, I have followed Brad and learned from his eBay listings that he is very thorough and accurate in his descriptions. I came across his Retreasured listings and was intrigued by the look of the American Bison leather. I was not disappointed. While not all rebinders are the same, I sensed that his attention to detail would carry over to the rebinding craft.

I have had many rebinds and many “premium leather” Bibles that now pale in comparison to my Retreasured Rebound Brevier Text American Standard Version Bible. The leather is soft, supple, and flexible without being so overly “floppy” that you fear actually using it.

The workmanship is exceptional. The attention to detail from the corners to the placement of ribbons to the perimeter stitching to maintaining the period look with black endpages is on par with more established binders but without the “forever” wait time. I expect that as more people become aware of his work the wait time will increase but I sent this Bible out last Saturday and am writing this review one week later with the Bible in my hand. It is truly a one of a kind, heirloom quality rebind that will certainly be treasured for many years, lessons, and sermons to come. Thank you, Sir.

I recently purchased an NASB 1977 rebound Cambridge Reference Edition Bible from you. I just wanted you to know even though this is a used Bible, this is one of the most – if not the most – beautifully bound and special bible I’ve ever owned, and I’ve owned dozens over the years! This handiwork exudes with such special love and care that has been put into rebinding it – such excellent work – that this is truly a re-treasured Bible. It really IS a wonderful Bible as you called it in the note from you that came with it, and I have been and will continue to be blessed by reading it!

This is one of three I purchased recently – one is a pocket version this the NASB which I bought for carrying around with me on the go, and the other is 1984 NIV – and while this one is my main copy for daily reading and devotion, the other two are equally masterful in their work. It feels as though not just expert care but also special prayers have gone into the rebounding of each one.

I’m so blessed that I wanted you to know. Thank you for the work you do, and God bless you and all your labor!

“The craftsmanship is just spectacular; I tried for a better adjective but that was the first word that came to mind when I opened the mailer so it is very apropos.”
